We're thrilled to share that Mental Health Matters' Kent and Medway Safe Havens have been shortlisted for the HSJ Award for Best Not for Profit Working in Partnership with the NHS.

The Safe Havens provide vital non-clinical, emotional, social and practical support to adults experiencing mental health crisis. With a network of out-of-hours community sites and co-located hospital locations, including two which operate 24/7, the service offers a compassionate and effective alternative to A&E for those seeking urgent mental health support.

The impact of this support can be seen through the experiences of people like Peter, who has accessed one of our Kent and Medway Safe Havens during periods of crisis. You can read more about his experience here: Peter's Story

In close partnership with NHS Kent & Medway and system-wide colleagues the Safe Havens are now fully integrated within urgent and emergency care pathways.

This collaborative approach ensures people in distress receive timely, person-centred support, while also helping to reduce pressure on the wider health system.

A huge congratulations to our dedicated team!
