Our Team

We are a group of people who care deeply about reducing the stigma around mental health. Our team holds a range of training and teaching accreditations, including membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, Level 5 Teaching qualification and Post Graduate Certificate in Education. As an organisation we are accredited by Livingworks to deliver SafeTALK and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and we are also accredited by Mental Health England to deliver Mental Health First Aid for both youths and adults.

Andrea Rutherford - Learning and Development Business Partner

Andrea started her career in the travel and tourism industry and spent 10 years travelling the world before making the decision to come back to the UK to start a career in teaching. Andrea worked for over 10 years in the training and education sector and gained valuable experience working with the long-term unemployed work programme, mental health/health conditions and NEET allowing her to understand the barriers individuals face to return to education, training and the labour market.

Andrea has worked with mental health clients in both employment and housing support, using a personal recovery model to support and help clients flourish, develop and reach their own personal recovery goals.

As a Learning and Development Specialist at MHM, Andrea delivers training to external organisations using a range of teaching, assessment and evaluation methods. Andrea is committed to promoting mental health awareness, tackling discrimination and stigma and helping to change the way mental health is viewed.

Andrea is a firm believer in personal development and has lots of enthusiasm, with a passion for teaching and training. Andrea also holds a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification.

Helen Ainslie - Learning and Development Officer

Helen is a Learning and development professional with 20 years experience who gained her Certificate in Training Practice and CIPD Associate membership in 2004. She has a BSc Sport Science due to a lifelong passion of fitness, health and wellbeing both physically and emotionally.

Helen started her career in Call Centre Management where she gained invaluable business experience within a multi-site contact operation within various industries including financial services, education, energy, and hazardous waste management.

She has expertise in the design, development of high impact training packages increasing employee productivity, sales and service provided through a rigorous review/training needs analysis and evaluation process. Training employees from all levels ranging from customer facing employees up to Director level. She works collaboratively with businesses and their managers within the operation both internally and externally to ensure there is a joined-up approach to development across the business and has expertise in training and getting the best out of the management team.

Helen is as a self-motivated and proactive person. In everything she does she acts efficiently and has a creative flair which can be seen in her enthusiastic and interactive training design and delivery style. This style of delivery gets the most of out her delegates ensuring that the learning is embedded whilst being an enjoyable experience.

At MHM, as a Learning & Development professional now in Mental Health and Wellbeing, Helen believes that she is part of something that can make a difference to people’s lives. Within this role she is not only developing employees which is her passion but also, she can make a difference ensuring that the people who contact us get the best service possible regarding their health and wellbeing.

Suzanne Milbourne - Learning and Development Officer

Suzanne is a Learning and Development professional with 20 years experience in Learning and Development roles. Throughout her career she has had various roles within the NHS, local authority, and the private sector. She has worked as a nurse, a manager and as a learning and development professional across services.

Regarding qualifications, she is a qualified nurse for learning disabilities and has a combined degree in Psychology with Philosophy. She completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Diploma in Management and has various coaching and therapy qualifications, having had her own business as a Coach, Therapist and Freelance Trainer.

Suzanne started her career in learning disability nursing where she provided support for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental ill health issues. She has supported children and adults with a range of abilities and needs, focusing on adults with learning disabilities and severe mental ill health.

In 2003 Suzanne moved from nursing to a Learning and Development role where she developed and delivered an extensive range of training across Health and Social care which included Autism, Learning Disabilities, Safeguarding Adults and many more social care topics.

Susanne has experience of managing teams who are in transition and has designed, developed and delivered Team Leadership Development programmes both as a manager and as a trainer. As a trainer she has delivered training on various Health and Social care topics including Suicide Awareness, Self-harm, Personality Disorder, and other topics relating to Mental Health. As a Coach and Therapist, she has worked extensively in groups and in one-to-one sessions with people who experience high levels of anxiety, depression and other issues affecting wellbeing.

Suzanne is passionate about helping others to make positive changes in their lives, and believes that through good training and development opportunities, well trained professionals make a huge difference to the people they support. She is an excellent communicator and builds rapport easily with delegates, offering a warm and welcoming environment in which to learn. As a trainer she enjoys making learning engaging and is enthusiastic about creating new and innovative ways to learn.
