Mental Health Matters is inviting people to play an active role in shaping the services that support their communities. Whether you have lived experience, ideas to share, or simply want to help improve mental health support, there are several ways to get involved.

  • Share Your Story - Has a Mental Health Matters service helped you? Your story could inspire others to seek support. Speak to a member of the team or visit share your story page.
  • Become a Mystery Shopper - As a mystery shopper, you’ll test our services and share honest feedback to help us do better.
  • Join local sessions - Take part in events and feedback sessions. Share your ideas, and help shape the support provided by your local service.
Anyone interested in getting involved can speak to a member of the MHM team or request a Get Involved Guide for more information.

At Tunbridge Wells Safe Haven, we have been working to make the space feel calmer and more welcoming for the people who use it.

People accessing the service shared how softer lighting helped them feel more relaxed and less overwhelmed, particularly during one-to-one support and peer sessions. They also suggested items that could offer comfort, such as weighted blankets and bean bags, alongside creative activities like arts, crafts, and games.

These changes might seem small, but they can have a real impact. Feeling comfortable in a space can help people settle, open up, and feel more able to connect with others. It helps turn a building into a place where people feel safe and supported.

Thanks to generous donations, we were able to listen, respond, and make improvements that reflect what people tell us they need. This is how fundraising directly supports wellbeing in practical, meaningful ways.
